Children’s Privacy Notice

How Athletes of Life handles information about minor athletes and supports parent and guardian involvement.Last updated: August 18, 2026

Draft for attorney review — Version 1.0

This is a provisional business draft and has not been approved by legal counsel. It does not replace any direct parental notice or verifiable parental consent process required for a particular online service. A Florida-licensed attorney should review it before it is treated as legally final.

Children under 13 may not independently submit personal information or create an account. A parent or legal guardian should contact Athletes of Life.

Protecting Young Athletes and Their Families

Athletes of Life provides girls-focused soccer training, development experiences, recruiting guidance, mentorship, and related digital services. Because many athletes are minors, we believe parents and legal guardians should understand how information about young athletes is handled.

This Children's Privacy Notice supplements our Privacy Policy. It explains our practices concerning minors, including children under 13. If this Notice conflicts with the general Privacy Policy regarding a child's information, this Notice controls for that issue.

1. Parent and Guardian Involvement

Athletes of Life expects a parent or legal guardian to participate in decisions involving a minor athlete.

  • A parent or guardian should submit website forms for a minor.
  • A parent or guardian should review program terms, privacy notices, waivers, medical authorizations, media choices, and payment obligations.
  • A parent or guardian should join a Fit Call, onboarding meeting, or other meeting when requested and whenever appropriate for the athlete's age.
  • A minor may not misrepresent her age or submit another person's contact information without permission.

Submitting information about a minor represents that the person submitting it is authorized to do so.

2. Children Under 13

Children under 13 may not independently:

  • submit a public website form;
  • create an Athletes of Life account;
  • join an interactive community or messaging feature;
  • schedule a call or service;
  • upload personal content;
  • provide personal information directly to Athletes of Life online.

If Athletes of Life offers an online feature that collects personal information directly from a child under 13, we must first provide an appropriate direct notice to the parent and obtain verifiable parental consent unless a legal exception applies.

At present, a parent or guardian should provide the information needed to inquire about or administer services for an athlete under 13.

3. Information We May Collect About a Minor

When provided by a parent or guardian, or otherwise collected with appropriate authorization, information may include:

  • athlete name and age;
  • parent or guardian name, email address, and cell phone number;
  • playing level, league, team, school, position, and graduation year;
  • athletic, academic, developmental, and college goals;
  • scheduling and attendance information;
  • program or plan interest;
  • assessment notes, progress observations, and feedback;
  • highlight-video links or athletic materials supplied by the family;
  • agreements, waivers, emergency medical authorization, and media choices;
  • communications with the family;
  • app activity, mentorship participation, challenges, or content when the athlete receives authorized access;
  • technical information described in our Privacy Policy when a website or digital service is used.

We do not ask children to provide more personal information than is reasonably necessary for the relevant activity.

Families should not submit Social Security numbers, passport information, financial-account details, medical records, school transcripts, or other highly sensitive documents through an ordinary public website form unless Athletes of Life specifically requests them through an approved method.

4. How We Use a Minor’s Information

We may use authorized information to:

  • respond to a parent's or guardian's request;
  • evaluate program fit, readiness, age group, goals, or availability;
  • provide soccer training, College Pathway guidance, mentorship, or app access;
  • prepare an athlete-focused development or recruiting plan;
  • schedule and administer calls, meetings, trials, and sessions;
  • communicate with the athlete and family;
  • support safety, emergency response, attendance, and program operations;
  • maintain required consent and business records;
  • personalize the athlete's authorized experience;
  • prevent misuse, investigate safety concerns, and enforce conduct rules;
  • comply with legal requirements.

Athletes of Life will not condition a child's participation on disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for the activity.

5. When Information May Be Shared

We may share a minor's information only as reasonably necessary with:

  • vendors that provide website, database, scheduling, email, storage, communication, security, or authorized program functions;
  • professionals or service providers specifically selected or approved by the family;
  • emergency responders, medical personnel, law enforcement, or authorities when reasonably necessary for safety or legal compliance;
  • other persons when the parent or guardian directs or authorizes the disclosure.

Service providers may use information only for the services they perform for Athletes of Life or as otherwise permitted by their agreements and applicable law.

Athletes of Life does not give independent coaches unrestricted access to private athlete records merely because they are coaches. Athletes are not placed into direct communication with outside coaches through the current private-testing version of the app unless a separate, reviewed process is introduced and the family receives appropriate information and choices.

6. Advertising and Tracking

Athletes of Life does not knowingly sell the personal information of children under 13 or use their personal information for targeted advertising.

The public website may use analytics or advertising tools, as described in our Privacy Policy. A child under 13 should not independently use forms or interactive features. Where Athletes of Life has actual knowledge that information belongs to a child under 13, it should not disclose that information for targeted advertising without the separate verifiable parental consent required by applicable law.

Any non-essential tracking on a child-directed or mixed-audience digital experience must be reviewed before activation. This Notice does not claim that a particular cookie-consent or age-verification system has already been implemented.

7. The Athletes of Life App and Interactive Features

Authorized College Pathway participants may receive temporary private access to approved Athletes of Life app features as a program bonus. Depending on the active version, features may include mentorship replays, educational content, challenges, progress activities, and a participant community.

For minor users:

  • access should be created or approved by a parent or guardian;
  • the family must receive the applicable terms, privacy notice, and community rules;
  • public profiles, direct messaging, location sharing, and contact with outside adults should remain disabled unless separately reviewed and authorized;
  • participants must not post phone numbers, home addresses, school schedules, travel plans, passwords, financial information, or other sensitive information;
  • Athletes of Life may review, restrict, remove, or preserve content when reasonably necessary for safety, moderation, or legal compliance;
  • access may be suspended or terminated for safety or conduct concerns.

Current app access should not be described as a direct recruiting portal to college coaches unless that functionality has been legally and operationally reviewed and activated.

8. Communication With Minor Athletes

Athletes of Life aims to keep communication professional, transparent, and related to the program.

  • Parents or guardians should be included in material scheduling, enrollment, payment, safety, and program decisions.
  • One-to-one electronic communication with a minor should include the parent or guardian whenever reasonably practical.
  • Staff and authorized adults must not request secrecy from a minor or use disappearing-message features for program communication.
  • Sexual, romantic, exploitative, threatening, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate communication is prohibited.
  • Concerns may be reported to info@athletesoflife.org.

Additional communication and conduct requirements may appear in the Community Guidelines, Minor Safety Code, or applicable program agreement.

9. Photos, Video, Voice, Stories, and Testimonials

Media authorization is separate from permission to participate.

  • A parent or legal guardian must make the media choice for a minor.
  • Consent should identify the permitted uses, such as the website, social media, YouTube, advertising, educational materials, or mentorship recordings.
  • Declining optional promotional media authorization should not by itself prevent program participation.
  • Athletes of Life should avoid publishing unnecessary personal details with a minor's image.
  • A parent may withdraw permission for future uses by contacting us, although withdrawal may not require removal of materials already lawfully created, printed, distributed, or published before the request.

Mentorship sessions or meetings that may be recorded require clear advance notice and an appropriate authorization process.

10. Parent and Guardian Rights

Subject to identity and authority verification, a parent or legal guardian may request to:

  • learn what personal information Athletes of Life has collected about their child;
  • review that information;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • request deletion;
  • refuse further collection or use;
  • withdraw previously provided consent for future processing;
  • request that the child's account or interactive access be closed.

To make a request, email info@athletesoflife.org with the subject line Children's Privacy Request. Include the parent or guardian's name, the athlete's name, the request, and enough information for us to locate the relevant record. Do not email identity documents unless we specifically provide an approved method.

We may deny or limit a request when retention or processing is required by law, necessary for safety, needed to complete an authorized service, or otherwise permitted by law. We will explain the applicable reason when required.

Checking a general website checkbox, receiving a marketing email, or allowing a child to browse public content may not satisfy every legal requirement for verifiable parental consent.

When verifiable parental consent is required, Athletes of Life should use a method reasonably designed to confirm that the consenting person is the child's parent or legal guardian. The method may vary based on the information, activity, technology, and applicable law.

A parent may consent to the collection and internal use of a child's information without consenting to optional promotional media use or disclosure to independent third parties, except when disclosure is integral to the requested service and clearly explained.

12. Retention and Deletion

We retain a minor's personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the specific purpose for which it was collected, program administration, safety, required records, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

Information should not be retained indefinitely merely because it may be useful later. When it is no longer reasonably necessary, Athletes of Life may delete, de-identify, or securely archive it as permitted by law.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to our operations and the nature of the information. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

If you believe a child's information has been accessed, disclosed, or used improperly, contact info@athletesoflife.org promptly.

14. Information Collected Through Schools or Organizations

If Athletes of Life later provides an online service through a school, homeschool organization, club, or other institution, the organization's authority to provide consent may be limited to the educational or contracted context.

Athletes of Life must not use information collected under institutional authorization for unrelated commercial purposes without an appropriate legal basis and any required parent or guardian consent. Any such program should have a separate agreement and notice describing the parties' responsibilities.

15. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Notice as our programs, app, technology, or legal obligations change. The updated version will show a revised "Last updated" date. When legally required, we will provide additional notice or obtain new consent before materially changing how previously collected information from a child is used or disclosed.
