What Is a Virtual Soccer Club for Girls? How It Works

Key Takeaways
- A virtual soccer club is a community and platform for the parts of soccer that happen off the field: mindset, recruiting, development and belonging.
- It does not replace your team or your coach. It adds a place to grow, ask questions and track your progress.
- Athletes of Life is free to join, uses live weekly mentorship and requires parent authorization for minors.
Most girls who love soccer have a team, a coach and a schedule. What many do not have is a place to ask the questions that keep them up at night: Am I good enough? Where do I start with college recruiting? Why do I feel nervous before every game? Who can I ask?
That gap is why we built a virtual soccer club. Here is what it means, how it works and who it is for.
What a virtual soccer club is
A virtual soccer club is a club that lives online. Instead of a field, it uses a platform and live video sessions. Instead of only training, it focuses on everything around training that shapes a player: confidence, habits, recruiting, nutrition basics, communication and community.
Think of it as a second team that meets you where you are, whether you live in a big city or a small town, whether you play for an elite club or your high school team.
What happens inside the club
At Athletes of Life, the experience is built around a few simple parts.
- Live mentorship every Wednesday at 8 PM Eastern. Each session follows the same rhythm: a check-in, a challenge review, a real story from our founder, one practical tool, time to practice live and a challenge for the week.
- The College Pathway. Step by step across the mentorship season, from finding your level and building your school list to your athlete profile, your highlight video, your first emails, camps, calls, money and decisions.
- A profile and journal. Players build their athlete profile and write in a private journal, so progress becomes visible.
- Challenges and points. Showing up earns points. Points feed a ranking and the Athlete of the Week and Athlete of the Month recognitions, which come with a badge on your profile, a certificate and a free mentorship session. They never involve money.
- Community. We call each other Amigas. The club is a place to be seen, to ask questions and to cheer for each other.
Who it is for
- Players around high school age who want to improve their mindset, understand recruiting and feel less alone.
- Parents who are paying, driving and supporting, and want honest information. Parents are welcome in selected sessions.
- College coaches and club staff who want to follow players’ progress and find prepared athletes.
What a virtual club does not do
We like to be clear about this.
- It does not replace your coach or your team.
- It does not promise scholarships, roster spots, contracts or replies from coaches. Nobody can honestly promise those.
- It does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. We teach performance mindset tools, and when something is serious we encourage families to talk with a professional.
- It does not accept minors without parent authorization.
Why mindset and recruiting live together
Many recruiting problems are mindset problems in disguise. A player who thinks “no coach will answer anyway” may never send the email. A player who labels herself after one mistake may play scared. That is why our mentorship uses simple tools from cognitive behavioral approaches, like catching a thought, checking the evidence and choosing a more accurate thought, and then connects them to a real action, like building a school list or finishing a profile.
Meeting in person
A virtual club does not mean we never meet. Our founder also hosts in-person moments, like Athletes of Life Day, a free night on the field for a small group of high school girls. The idea is simple: the club is online, and the love is real.
About Athletes of Life
Athletes of Life is a virtual soccer club for girls who want more from the game. It was founded by Ana Egeling, who came up through the Vasco da Gama academy in Brazil, played college soccer at Regis University on a full scholarship and played pro at Botafogo. Her own path from Brazil to the United States showed her how many players are missing a clear map.
